Is masculinity fading?

Or in other words, "have we males started to get more in touch with our feelings?" or something like that. I ponder on this thought because lately I've seen two trends. Bronies/Ponyfags and Moebros/Moefags. Now you're probably thinking, what in the fuck does that mean? To put it simple, the first term comes from a show called "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" (Pictured below).
I've only heard about this show last year, and from the looks of it, the demographic of this show is aimed at females, mainly those that are young. While this is true, what's surprising is that there are male viewers as well. That's right. MALE. According to wiki, males of the age range between 14-35 watch this particular show. Surprising? Yes it is, hence where the term "Brony" comes from. Now I don't have a sure fire reason as to why males like this show, but I'm going to go with the assumption that it's enjoyable because of the plot, animation, and characters. One friend of mine, or a brony, likes this show because it just makes him happy, no matter what mood he's in. Another friend of mine showed me a clip of this show a couple of months back and I can honestly say, it looks like a fun show to watch. When will I watch it, I have no idea. But this is what currently holds my interest so far.

And what is this you wonder? It's an anime called K-ON! and I was first introduced to it back in the Winter of '09. The show is basically about 5 high school girls in a light music club playing music and having fun. Yup. Just like with MLP, you'd think this show was aimed at a certain demographic. Honestly, I wasn't sure if I would watch this show at the time. I thought that if I watched it, it would turn me "girly." To my surprise it didn't. I enjoyed the character interactions, the characters themselves, the art, the music, pretty much everything about it. It's a show that made me happy every time. It's actually now one of my favorite anime. Believe it or not, this anime is actually a big hit in Japan, mostly with males. Even over here in America, there are, what some call, "moebros." But what's moe? I read somewhere that moe (pronounced moh-eh) is defined as a characteristic of being cute and that you wouldn't want that character to be hurt. Something like that. That's what this anime has. Moe. All the characters in this show have it. I'm not too sure what the universal definition of moe is, but that definition is something that I've gone with for a while.

Now there are those that stay away or hate this kind of stuff. People of this kind tend to call those that like the aforementioned shows "ponyfags"/"moefags", or call the shows "ponyshit"/"moeshit." There are reasons where I see this hate/dislike. Animation is one of them. Just the design of a character can turn one off of these kinds of shows. Even moe is becoming a trend in anime these days and some say it's killing the industry.
This leads to demographics. Of course, these shows aren't meant for everyone. For example, one who hasn't seen any of these shows is introduced to someone who has seen them won't see what's good about it. People have different tastes. It'll always be like that.
Finally, there's fanbases. Fanbases, IMO, generally make up what people think the show is. People who know about bronies/anime watchers in general, tend to look down on them because of stories of fanbases. Unfortunately this is true, but like the old saying goes, "You can't judge a book by it's cover." 4 of my friends watch these kinds of shows and still act normal around others who don't (AFAIK). After all, they DO have other interests and aren't like this crazy fans out there who live for this kind of stuff.

To me and some people, this is cute and funny. To others, they think it's weird. And no, this isn't how they REALLY look like in the show. (Source: Hidamari Sketch)

Well shit, I think I just answered my question by typing up this blog. Basically, we can still have masculinity in us. It's just that some of us hold interests like these as well. Why other males always try to look and act tough just to impress and belong with peers is pretty stupid to me. You don't have to take away what you like just to belong with a certain group. Liking this kind of stuff, IMO, just makes us more human. It doesn't make us feminine or girly. Hell, I fucking love watching K-ON! and Hidamari Sketch, but I enjoy Gears of War, working out, and basketball, so what does that make me?

Top 5 Games I'm Looking Forward To

5. Blazblue Continuum Shift: Extend

I got BBCS because it had an anime art style. Pretty soon, it became a fighting game that I loved to play and it made me appreciate the genre as a whole. While I hear the story is good, I couldn't bring myself to finish it because I was so sucked into the online. If any genre can give you a sense of accomplishment competitively, it has to be fighting, and Blazblue has taught me that. I can't wait to see how Extend plays.

4. Jak and Daxter HD Collection

While I've played and completed all 3 back in my PS2 days, I regrettably don't have all 3 in my possession. Jak and Daxter were my childhood. This series is probably my all-time favorite platformer next to Crash Bandicoot (before Naughty Dog left its development for both series). The story, gameplay, and characters were all great and made me fall in love with the series. I can't wait to get my hands on this come Feb. and with Trophy support, I'm gonna be spending quite some time on this game.

3. Tales of Graces f

I first got my hands on the Tales series back in Holiday '10 with Vesperia mainly for the same reasons as BBCS. I loved Vesperia a lot and when I researched a little, I was disappointed that the "True" version of Vesperia was a JPN PS3 exclusive with no plans on taking it stateside. Thankfully, in '11, I heard Graces was coming to the states soon and after hearing it's release date, I'm more than hyped. The art, as you can see, is very colorful, the main cast is diverse and likable, and the gameplay is fast paced. Graces was initially for the Wii and f is an enhanced port of the Wii exclusively for the PS3. And if you didn't already know, I finally have a PS3 so now my game collection will probably filled with more JRPGs since they appear more on the PS3 rather than the 360.

2. Persona 4: The Golden/Persona 5

I haven't played a lot of JRPGs, but if you were to ask me my favorite one, it has to be Persona 4. The stories and characters are what make the Persona series stand out and P4 is one of them. I spent at least 150+ hours on my first playthrough and I was amazed at how much time I've spent. And after finishing it last year, good stuff has just come out of the game itself. An anime adaptation (which is great so far), a spin-off fighting game (developed by the Blazblue team), and an enhanced port for the Vita. The port is coming out this spring in Japan, and from the success of the Persona series and Catherine (which was made by the Persona team) in the states, I'm fairly sure the port will come out later this year, most likely the holidays. I put Persona 5 in there as well because while I know it may not come out this year, it will most likely be announced and have a release date as well. Just hearing it announced officially will get me hyped immediately.

1. Mass Effect 3

The last of the trilogy of one of my favorite series this generation. I liked Mass Effect 1, but definitely loved Mass Effect 2. I absolutely loved the combat in ME2 and the choice-driven narratives in both games. While there were some problems with both games, they will most likely be fixed in ME3 (I haven't read up on it since I want to surprise myself). With the addition of a co-op mode, a first for the series, I can't wait to team up with one of my friends who's a real big fan of the series. Other than Commander Shepard, the squads of both games were really likable and I can't wait to see their conclusion in this game. The beginning of the end is coming this March. Can't wait.

My 2011-12 in Gaming

2011 was pretty much a good year in terms of games. Looking back, I think I spent about $1000 on gaming alone which is pretty damn shocking to me. So before the New Year hits, I thought I'd give just small reviews on my purchases (hopefully it's all of them) and bring up a list of what I plan to get this year.

MvC3 (Sold it)- I HONESTLY wanted to get into this game, but I just couldn't. Prior to getting this, I was playing Blazblue: Continuum Shift and I was already pretty decent at it and I knew how to play it. BBCS ended up being more played than MvC3 and eventually, I got around to selling it. I have no plans on getting UMvC3.

Bulletstorm (Sold)- Initially got it for the Gears 3 Beta which I later found out that I could get in 3 days early through some exploit. The game wasn't bad TBH. It DID get repetitive, but the story was fairly intriguing and I'm curious how the sequel will play out. The MP didn't quite grasp me as well so I never really got into it. I wanted to play it again to get other achievements, but it just never came to me so I sold it.

Pkmn White (Haven't finished)- Being a Pokemon fan, I wanted to get this game. Sadly enough, it couldn't hold my interest for (I guess) more than 2 months. The game's fun, don't get me wrong, but other games got me hooked so I left this one on the shelf.

Trouble Witches Neo- Being an anime fan, this game intrigued me with its cute artstyle and fairly unique gameplay. Think I only played it for a month before I lost interest, but it was fun nonetheless.

Portal 2- Possibly one of the best gaming experiences I had were with Portal 2. The story was amazingly well written and the Co-Op is one of the best Co-Op experiences you'll ever had. I'll never forget those moments of laughter and accomplishment from beating the Co-Op with "Partner in Science," Eloteman81892.

Lost Odyssey- After hearing it's one of the best JRPGs on the 360, I decided to give it a whirl. Unfortunately, it didn't hold my interest for very long, but I will eventually get around to finishing it. Hearing that it's a tear jerker makes me want to go back and beat it.

Persona 4- Quite possibly one of the best RPGs I've played and my All-Time Favorite JRPG. It's not necessary, but because I was an anime fan, I really enjoyed it. The story, character interactions, the characters themselves, and the gameplay had me hooked the whole summer. I put out about 150+ hours on my first playthrough alone and I still haven't achieved total completion.

Agarest War Zero (barely touched it)- Sometimes, I want to think that this was a wasted purchase. I got it on impulse because I was an anime fan and I wanted to get into SRPGs. Unfortunately, I played it for only 2 days I think before it hit my shelf. I'd like to pick it up again someday, but I think that'll take a while.

Catherine- My Sleeper Hit of the Year. I ended up caving in and got the Deluxe Edition (because of the boxers haha) and to my surprise, it was a REALLY great game. I believe this was Atlus's (the Persona developers) first game on this generation of consoles and it did really well. The story was intriguing and the gameplay, though menacing at a glance, is a fun challenge. I even enjoyed the challenge mode, Babel, and ended up placing pretty high up on the leaderboards for the first 3 stages on Single Mode on the 360.

Persona 3 FES- After playing P4 and reading how P3 was really great, I wanted it. My friend eventually got it for me for my birthday and of course, I enjoyed it. I still haven't finished it yet, but hearing that the end-game section is intense, I really want to go back and finish it.

Gears of War 3- My personal GOTY right here. The story concluded nicely, Horde is new and great, Beast mode is pretty fun, and the MP is probably one of my favorites of all time. Gears, to me, is a game that requires dedication if you want to become good and have fun, and after getting into the series back in 08 with the first Gears, I eventually became a good player. Because of my skill, I have a strong group that I play with every now and then.

Battlefield 3- While it's a great game and SUPERIOR TO MW3 IN EVERY WAY, I find Bad Company 2 to be better because of the map design and I guess not that many cheap tactics (Tactical Flashlight has GOT TO GO). I still haven't finished the story (it's REALLY uninteresting), but the MP is pretty fun.

MGS HD- FUCK MW3, GET MGS HD INSTEAD. I remember playing MGS3 back on the PS2 and I honestly couldn't enjoy it at the time. Now that I got the HD collection, I enjoyed every single minute of MGS3. Once again, still haven't beaten all 3 games yet, but I'd like to soon since I want to get MGS4 now that I have a PS3.

Skyrim- My first Elder Scrolls game and I enjoyed it a lot. Big world to explore in, tons of stuff to do. I couldn't put it down for almost a month. Honestly, if it weren't for the bugs, I'd still play this game every now and then.

NBA 2K12- I'm a basketball fan and I loved playing 2K10 during the summer (had no intentions of buying 2K11 at the time) I wanted to pre-order and get this game at launch, but decided not to. Eventually got it on sale a week before Christmas and at the time, basketball season was about to begin, and I felt like playing a basketball game. The game is overall solid and playing really well with a team you like (GO ROCKETS) really feels good.

A new PS3- For a LONG time, I always wanted to get a PS3 and eventually I got one, MAINLY because of the exclusives it has and its larger list of this generation's JRPGs. It honestly feels good to own both a 360 and a PS3 now. My wallet's gonna die though...

Atelier Rorona- Got it cuz I wanted a JRPG as my first PS3 game, the artstyle looked cute, and it was the first in the Arland series (which I want to get into). Currently playing it right now and though it's pretty much just fetch quests, I like it because of the character interactions and the art.

FFXIII (bought it again for PS3 since I plan to get the sequel on that)- Yep. Realizing it now after playing it a 2nd time, it is incredibly cheesy. I do like the graphics and the battle system.

As for 2012, my current purchase plans:
FFXIII-2 (PS3)- While I liked the prequel, I hear this one blows it out of the water (NO MORE LINEARITY). I'm looking forward to it.

Jak and Daxter HD Collection- My childhood in an HD Collection? Hell yes. Jak and Daxter will remain as one of my all-time favorite platformers.

BBCS: Extend- I think this is the final release of CS and the most updated one with balance all around. BB remains to be my favorite fighting game and I'm really looking forward to this one.

Hyperdimesion Neptunia Mk2- While I still need to play the first one, I'd like to get my hands on this one someday.

SSX- One of my favorite series being revived back. I LOVED SSX 3 and I can't wait to just chill and play SSX when it comes out.

Mass Effect 3- GOTY 2012? Maybe. While I keep hearing that there are story leaks, I am not gonna look for them. I personally want to experience the game myself since IT IS the end of Shepard's story.

Tales of Graces f- I was enchanted with Vesperia back on the 360 (FUCK YOU NAMCO BANDAI FOR NOT RELEASING THE UPDATED ONE TO AMERICA) and since I don't have the cash to get a 3DS to get the Abyss remake and after hearing Graces f is coming this March, I knew I had to get that. Seriously hoping there's dual audio since it's a PS3 exclusive in NA only.

Atelier Meruru- While I still have yet to finish Rorona and play Totori, I'm looking forward to Meruru. Getting because of the same reasons as Rorona.

If it comes out this year-
GTA V- The trailer left me in awe. While GTA IV was good, I wasn't fully satisfied since they left out a lot after San Andreas (which was amazing). And knowing you're back into Los Santos and co., HOLY SHIT I can't wait

Persona 4 The Golden- While it's coming out in Japan this year, I'm still waiting on a NA release date. When it pops up, I'm pre-ordering right away, regardless if I have a Vita or not.

Persona 4 Ultimate- Same as The Golden. Plus I'm real curious if it'll be similar to BB since the dev is Arc Sys.

Persona 5- After hearing that Atlus teased a "highly-anticipated game" were TBA, I immediately thought P5. Whether or not it comes out this year, I REALLY want it to finally be announced. Atlus did a great job with Catherine and I'm looking forward to how P5 looks.

And planned PS3 purchases later this year-
Atelier Totori
Hyperdimension Neptunia
Ar Tonelico- I saw loli transformation scenes. I was sold immediately
Uncharted series
Infamous series

And that about wraps it up. 2012 is gonna be a big year for RPGs for me and I'm really looking forward to it.

A lash at IGN's MW3 article

First off, here's the article: 5 Reasons Modern Warfare 3 Won't Disappoint

Now, let's look at those 5 reasons carefully...

"Spec Ops is Back, Now with Survival Mode"
Oh goody, that mode that almost no one plays once they've beat it or ignore it since they want to play the Multiplayer, is back. Great...
But honestly, Spec Ops was, I guess, a fresh addition to the MW series, but it wasn't, what IGN "claimed", "ridiculously addictive." *coughActivisionpaidIGNtomakethisarticlecough* Spec Ops had you go on missions set on different pieces that were on the Campaign and from MW1. Was it fun? Slightly. Did I come back to it frequently? Hell no. Back then, I was an avid CoD player, so my focus was the MP. I guarantee you that more than 90-95% of CoD players played ONLY MP. Spec Ops was just...there. Left to rot. Survival Mode won't make a difference at all either. *blarghRipoffofGEARSOFWAR'SHORDEMODEblargh* excuse me....ahem....Sure it looks good, but I'm guaranteed it won't be another Zombie mode (another Horde rip off) Plus, I'm disgusted at what IGN said about exploding attack dogs. "Oh, and did we mention exploding attack dogs? There are exploding attack dogs! How freakin' awesome is that? "
FUCKING INHUMANE. I know dogs were used in the war in the past, but having them in a videogame? Come on now...Next thing you know, you'll have retarded 12 year olds strapping dry ice bombs to their dogs. FUCK YOU IGN. FUCK YOU ACTIVISION

"Kill Confirmed"
While it looks good on paper, I don't think it'll look good once it's played. Actually, it's a retarded mode if you look at it closely. Once people get the grasp of the game mode, as soon as they got enough kills/dogtags, they'll just camp it out the rest of the match. So pretty much, it's like TDM, but more camp heavy, I presume. This is also pretty much a rip off of one of Crysis 2's MP mechanics. Good job.

"Call of Duty Elite"
As soon as I heard details about this, my mind said, "Fuck CoD and fuck you Activision. You money-grubbing whores." Essentially, Elite is a stat tracker but if paid, it provides map packs (which isn't bad if you're a fan of CoD) and a "social" experience for CoD players everywhere. Now, I put social in quotations because really, CoD a social experience? You're gonna compete against little kids who scream at their mic for some prizes in that'll most likely be miniscule and have little effect on one's future. Videogames are MEANT to be enjoyed. Playing them like it's your job will more than likely NOT help you in the future. Plus, if you're REALLY gonna use this service annually and plan to get every year's CoD, you're shelling out over $100 for a recycled game. In my eyes, that's retarded. And if you plan to do that, you're a retard.

"The Refined Engine"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

no

WHAT is refined? I've looked at gameplay and it looks pretty much the same as MW2. Plus, do CoD players REALLY care about the graphics? HELL NO. All they care about is getting quad-sprays, that stupid wall-bang-noscope/quickscope-720 stupid bull shit, and a high streak. I'm pretty damn sure they won't even focus on the graphics when they play the game.

"The Story Will Conclude"
While I'm interested in MW3 purely for the story, playing it will just be like watching a Michael Bay film. Most of the time you'll be shooting and very little will you be involved with the plot.

Yet more reasons why I dislike CoD and now IGN. Like I mentioned earlier, this article most likely was paid to be written in order to woo over buyers since IGN is a big gaming news site. Will I buy MW3? NOPE. I currently have Gears of War 3 and Battlefield 3 to satisfy my MP needs. And with MGS HD and Skyrim just around the corner, I don't even want to waste my time playing Recycled Warfare 3.

Geek Squad (My thoughts)

Haven't posted in a while, but I thought I would start again since a topic has piqued my interest.

Just recently, a friend of mine asked me to help him set up security on his network on a new router. While I tried everything I could, it didn't work out. Turns out, the problem was his modem was a modem/router combo (at least I'm pretty sure that's the problem). He then said that if anything, he'll go to Geek Squad for help if he later has problems with his network since he can connect without using a security key.

Which goes into the topic at hand. Geek Squad. If you don't know by now, Geek Squad is a service provided by Best Buy that deals mostly with technology set up. Setting up TVs, home entertainment systems, computers, video game systems, etc. While what the service does is good, it's a money waster in general. At the very least (I think), $50 is the first/cheapest/something along those lines, price that it has for one of its services. I looked around the video game set up services it has and the prices are ridiculous. $50 to transfer save files/downloads to a new hard drive, $30 to set up accounts and parental controls, and $130 to set up a network for online gaming. If you ask me, those prices are absurd. Why? You can do it for less. Heck, you can practically do it for free in some cases. With data transfer, you can just buy a sufficiently-sized flash drive, memory card, or a transfer cable (if you're on Xbox 360) for less depending on the console you have. And LOL at the account set up and parental controls. You don't NEED to pay that much to set that up. If you could just READ THE MANUAL of the system you bought, you can do that with ease. If not, you could just look it up online on the system company's website. As for networking, you've gotta be fucking kidding me if you're gonna spend $130 to set up for online gaming. Provided you already have a high-speed internet connection and a gaming console, all you need is an ethernet cable or a good router, depending on the type of connection you want. For this topic, we're going with a wireless connection. If you don't have a wireless router, you can get a good one for around $50 more or less. If you have basic common sense, you don't need to spend anymore than that just to set up your console for online gaming.

Basically, what I'm trying to get at is DO NOT go to Geek Squad first. Look around your area and find a person who can set up technology for you at a much lower price. One of the best things you could do is to contact a friend or a close acquaintance who's tech-savvy to set it up for you, possibly for free, like what my friend did. If anything, seek assistance from Geek Squad last. You don't need to pay an absurd amount to set up technology when you can do it yourself (provided you have common sense) or know someone you can trust who can do it for cheap or even for free. Geek Squad is just there to help those that are technology-dumb and (maybe?) have no friends or are socially awkward.

E3 Impressions (Day 1)

So today marks the first day (?) of E3. IMO, this year's E3 has probably some of the best showcases I've seen.

First off, Gears of War 3- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFmYbaAjrfo
The demo, honestly, wasn't anything too flashy, but I was impressed how fluid the cinematics and character movement is now. Gears REALLY has come a long way and I can't wait to play it. MP of the year for me. Gears is my forte. FPSs are easy to pick up and play, but with a TPS like Gears, there's more to it than just point and shoot and I think that's why I prefer this over FPSs. TL;DR ver. FPS is too easy. TPS is more challenging.

Next, SSX- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvizmCS8kAY
WHAAAT?!? SSX?!? Yes, believe it or not, I've always thought snowboarding was cool as shit. My first grasp of a snowboarding videogame was Cool Boarders 2, but it was a demo. My REAL grasp on the genre was with SSX 3, which I LOVED to play back in the day. Luckily, I bought it yesterday for $4 @Gamestop and even today, the graphics and animations are really well done for a PS2 game. I seriously can't wait for this game to come out cuz it looks sick.

Mass Effect 3- http://www.ign.com/videos/games/mass-effect-3-xbox-360-14235014
OMFGOMFGOMFGOMFG. I'm really curious as to how this trilogy ends. The gameplay looks slick, the graphics remind me of Gears 3, and DAT STORY. DAMMIT, I can't even think up words right now to describe how amazing this game'll be. I'm still pissed that they pushed it back to next year, 3-6-12...

Halo CE Remake- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9g1U-Qy2jx4
Honestly, idk about this game yet. Seems like it'll play JUST like Reach w/o the load outs I presume, and the engine looks just like Reach, which isn't bad, but it's something I've seen and played before already. Kinda losing interest in Halo already, but I may pick this up sometime later. Not a Day 1 GETTING for me.

Halo 4- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EFW-v8IwE5Q
Still, idk. I mean, I'll get it for the story, yeah, but FUCK, seeing the CE remake and this at the same day? Halo needs to slow down, I mean, they JUST released Reach last year and CE remake is coming this holiday and 4 coming out the following holiday. This'll probably be a Day 1 GET for me, but I'm not too hyped about it right now.

Battlefield 3- http://blogs.battlefield.ea.com/battlefield_bad_company/archive/2011/06/06/brand-new-battlefield-3-e3-videos.aspx
FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU---------
CoD, just lost. Seriously. It just lost after I watched these 2 trailers. I mean THIS is what an FPS should be. Realistic movements and sound, destructible environments. FUCK, this game will probably be the start of a new generation of FPS. Compare this to CoD...CoD is just some cheap kid's game. Also...MAINSTREAM SHIT. Everyone plays CoD, but why? I mainly played CoD for a semi-realistic FPS experience, but after CoD4, that went away completely and now it's too arcade-y. BF3 on the other hand will be a new experience. One that completely washed CoD away. Already have this mofo pre-ordered and I CANT WAIT! I hope there are other ways to get in the beta though...

Skyrim- http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-2011-gameplay-walkthrough/714852
Honestly, I've NEVER played Elder Scrolls. I've played Fallout 3, which I heard is kinda like it, and I liked it for its open world. After seeing this trailer though, I WANT TO GET SKYRIM NAO. The world looks HUGE. 150+ DUNGEONS. 300+ HOURS OF GAMEPLAY. FUCKING DRAGONS. HOT DAMN. I'll wait on my pre-order though because Gears 3 is top priority right now.

HYPE LEVEL (best to idgaf at all)
Gears 3
ME3
BF3
SSX
Skyrim
Halo 4
Halo CE Remake

FANBOYS

WARNING: PROFANE

YUP. FANBOYS

We ALL hate them (at least I think we all do). I'm no fanboy myself (at least I don't think I am, you decide as you read this rant), but I am a man with opinions that are backed up sometimes by fact.

Recently there's been a surge of fanboys concerning one video game.
Can you guess what it is?

THAT'S RIGHT!!!
IT'S MODERN WARFARE 3!!!

I've seen forums and YouTube videos of this game, and there's just SO much talk about it. There's talk about how the MP is gonna be, how the campaign is gonna be. Personally, I can't wait for the campaign. It's the SOLE REASON, why I decided to pre-order this game. OH BUT WHAT ABOUT THE MULTIPLAYER?!?

NO. FUCK THAT. And my reasons why.

I remember the day when Black Ops came out, everybody on my friends list was on that game practically every day, but for like, what, 3-5 months? Now, <6, maybe <10, people on my friends list/day play that game. I know Black Ops has zombies, but I don't see most of my friends playing that. They play the bland, boring multiplayer instead. Why is it bland and boring you ask? If you have a brain and/or if you're not someone, I guess, less than 16 years of age, you KNOW that CoD has been getting stale. That reason is why many of my friends have abandoned that game.

I understand that CoD is something you can enjoy with friends (sometimes), but it's the same experience every time. From my experience, everyone uses the same damn tactics, the same damn guns, the same damn perks, the same damn EVERYTHING. ALMOST NOTHING HAS CHANGED. My first real hold of the CoD franchise was with CoD4. At that time I was about 14-15 (18 now) and I thought it was one of the best shooters I've played ever (but nothing beat Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2. RIP 3 ='( ). At it's time, it was one of the most fun shooters out there. Players had variety at the time, which is why it was fun. Soon, it started going downhill. In my complete honest opinion, I blame zzirGrizz. Yes, the man with a badass sniper montage that managed to catch EVERY CoD player's eye and inspired EVERY FUCKING player to live by the sniper was one of the factors that ruined the CoD franchise and CoD4 (and yes I followed what he did, but quit soon after). Because of his skill with the sniper, every player wanted to mimic that, and so they did. You'd only see sniper montages in YT, which at the time were cool, but they became boring and unentertaining to watch. You'd be in multiplayer lobbies where at least every player is using a sniper class. IT PISSED ME OFF. Not only the sniper, but retarded classes too, which i'll mention next.

When MW2 hit, EVERYONE played the game like crack, including me. I was starting to love CoD again after the disaster that was W@W, which in my opinion, was ruined by lag and the use of vehicles. Not too long after MW2 released, the game started to get ridiculous. I remember the use of Akimbo Model 1887's. That gun was one of the most OVERPOWERED guns I've ever encountered in my history of gaming. You could kill someone 20ft away with a FUCKING SHOTGUN. A SHOTGUN. A gun that's meant for CQC and crowd control ONLY. Not for running and gunning like an SMG or at sometimes an Assault Rifle. Then the Javelin Glitch appeared, which annoyed the FUCK out of everyone because of its large as hell splash damage. Then we got 10th prestige lobby messages and all that annoying crap. People making money out of a damn video game using hacks. Really? You have to be that desperate to go that far to earn $20 bucks. Did I mention nukes? Yea, that ruined the game too. People would fucking camp the whole game trying to get a nuke, annoying the opposing team, and on some occasions, annoy their team as well since they're just camping and not going for the objective. I've also seen people boosting for nukes which makes no sense at all and it's pathetic as shit. Also, Commando. That RETARDED perk turns you into a fucking Abra or a Velociraptor. Why? Abra because you get knifed from like 10ft away after watching that killcam. And Velociraptor because people would run a Tac Knife+Marathon+Lightweight class and start pouncing at people nonstop. My favorite one of them all though? ONE MAN ARMY+DANGER CLOSE+TUBES. That shit was the easiest and most annoying way to kill a person EVER. Lemme give you an example, Domination on any map. The one with the main flag and the B flag practically wins the match. Someone catching B flag? Camp near the flag and bust out a tube and blow them to smithereens and just repeat over and over again til you win. Yep. You just won the game by using one of the most cheapest and one of the most abused tactics ever in gaming.

Those reasons alone made me hate MW2. Hate it so much, I sold that piece of shit because it was just so unbalanced and just not fun for the average gamer. I bet you're probably asking yourself, "What does this rant have to do with fanboys?" Simple. The majority of these players praise and buy these games even though they're broken/boring as hell. And you know who makes up this majority? Uncultured gamers and teenage/underage gamers (at least in my opinion). And by uncultured, I mean those that don't see beyond what the game and what other games have to offer (Ex. CoD fanboys not touching any other shooter other than CoD, etc.). And you know most teenage/underage kids haven't fully developed and will praise anything they find "cool" and "trendy" and will live by it til they mature.

Long rant short, fanboys need to broaden their tastes. They are idiots for defending something they think is the best and bashing something they think is shit. Keep the fanboyism up, get slapped like a bitch. I've been in that path before, and looking back, I feel like an idiot.

Don't like the fact that what I'm saying about CoD is true?
